Robin stumbled upon us on Facebook in late February and mentioned it to her son, Dean. The dynamic duo decided to take a “spin” and they’ve been coming regularly ever since! Dean finds spin class to be a fun routine that doesn’t feel like exercise. Unlike other exercises he’s tried and abandoned, this one doesn’t feel like work and isn’t boring! For mom, spin is a pain-free ride. Seven years ago, Robin injured her back in a car accident and her workout routine was at a standstill. She’s tried many times returning to the gym, but spin is the only workout that doesn’t cause pain. “For both of us, we feel great following the ride!”

As far as diet and eating habits go, Robin and Dean both stay away from carbohydrates, especially breads and desserts, and eat a high protein diet of lean meats with lots of fruits and vegetables. They take weekly visits to Trader Joe’s for mixed nuts and organic food. Cliff bars are their “go to” for a quick, pre-workout energy boost.

Robin proudly says of their new found appreciation for indoor cycling- “Spinning has definitely contributed to Dean’s weight loss-20 pounds! For me, I’ve been getting back into shape physically and aerobically. I can climb up the 3 flights of stairs at Briscoe Middle School now without getting winded.”

Incredible accomplishments by our endearing Mother-Son duo- Congratulations you two, keep up the good work!
